This channel was created to help those that struggle with crochet. If you are just starting out, you will want to start at the very first video at the bottom of the channel where the chain foundation is taught, and then just work your way up each lesson video, and practice each concept until you get it and have confidence in yourself. Each lesson becomes more challenging due to the step by step instruction. If you ever have a problem and need one-on-one help, let me know and I will give you info on how to find me on Facebook Instant Messenger, and we can video chat live so I can run you through the steps. Good luck to everyone! I am so excited to have this opportunity to help teach you crochet (eventually Knitting), and I hope you all enjoy the videos!

OMG this has got to be the easiest tutorial thus far! You are so detailed!😊
Thank you so much!! That’s one of my very first videos.. my third, I think. LOL. I appreciate that. I also hope you continue to check out more of my tutorials. This channel was designed with beginners in mind. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for this video! My niece always makes fun of my "knife" hold...and most people I watch use the pen hold, but it's too painful for me.
I’m glad I made this video. I remember seeing so many people getting flack for how they held their hook, and honestly, just because one person learned one way doesn’t mean that’s the only way. Crocheting should be stress free and comfortable, so hold your hook the way that gives you that. 🤗 Have a great day!
Beautifully explained. Thank you
Thank you so very much!! That was one of my very first videos when I was a RUclips newbie. LOL. I’m going to make some new beginner videos just as soon as I can get to it. 🤗 Thanks for watching and have a great day!
Very nice,thank you.❤
You’re so welcome!!
It's really hard to see your stiching it's blurry
I’m sorry about that. I record from my phone, so that happens sometimes with focus. Try this video. It’s a revised version of the same hat, just a little bigger, more for an adult. ruclips.net/video/I58sizpcxHo/видео.htmlsi=aNh0gq57ST_qut6L
@@FiberTheory thank you
@@josephinemcintosh5215 Sure! Glad I could help.
I made this yesterday it came out sooooo cute - how many rows would you say for 6-9 months please ?? I can't measure the baby's head bc it's a gift -Thank you for this tutorial it's perfect
Hi! Well, they have some hat measurement guides on Google images that you could use. That way you have a better idea what size fits a 6-9 month old and then you can measure the piece as you’re making it in order to get the proper fit. Here is one that I use. richtexturescrochet.com/beginner-beanie-crochet-pattern/crochet-hat-size-chart/ I hope this helps.
Hello Amanda please direct me to the jiffy stitch scarf as I have already done the hat..thank you
Hi!! I’m so glad you made the hat!! Here’s the link for the scarf!! ruclips.net/video/f5eMJjHDmwQ/видео.htmlsi=cqfF_L-l4zYxiLrM
Hi it’s very helpful video and I be able to made one successful by following your guidance’s video. Thank you.
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!! Happy crocheting!!
Loved this! Thank you
Hi!! That’s awesome! I’m so glad this video was helpful! Happy crocheting!!
Thank you for this tutorial! I made the first two projects from your channel, now I am onto the next :)
That’s fantastic!! Thanks for such a nice comment! I wish you the very best with all of your projects! Happy crocheting!
Perfect 🎉
Thank you!!
I like your work very neat. I'm going to make it today. Well done thanks. From Australia. Xx
Thank you so much!! Enjoy!🥰🥰
Beautiful!!
Yes! Theses hooks are stunning 😍, and so nice to use!!
unfortunately after i did the 20 rows, it curved
I’m sorry to hear that. Rip out a couple of rows, back to a row where you can begin at the beginning of that row, insert the hook back into the loop, and do those rows again, making sure to count every stitch and make sure you have the same stitch count every row. This is really important to keeping g the work straight and flat without curving. I hope this helps!
@@FiberTheory after two weeks i finally did it! it turned out so great thank you so much!
I love this tutorial
Thank you!! Hopefully I’ll have more beginner baby hats up soon!
Great tutorial
Thank you!

So glad you found this video. Happy crocheting! 🧶
@FiberTheory yes I’m interested in learning how to crochet hats
Here’s a really good one to start with! ruclips.net/video/fMMdtlZVrAc/видео.htmlsi=4Jxn-oCvFYBX6tg6
I’m excited to start something new!!
I’ve never done a crochet hat. Looking forward to it
Hey Cathy! Crochet hats are a lot of fun! They’re really popular too! The nice thing about it is that it’s not hard to make a scarf to match afterward. There is a matching scarf that does go with this particular hat as well on my channel, so, if you’re interested, let me know. I’ll send you the link.
This stitch is gorgeous ❤
Thank you Cathy! I don’t know if you remember the yarn they used to have back in the 80s and 90s called Jiffy, but that stitch was taught on the inside sleeve and then there was a baby blanket to make with it. That was one of the very first stitches I ever learned when I learned how to crochet in years old. It’s been my favorite ever since. I don’t think there’s anybody else on RUclips that teaches it. I haven’t seen it for many years anywhere on social media. But yes it is beautiful. I love how it works up and I love how it makes such a gorgeous texture.
Nice cap but she holds her hook differently.
Good morning Iv just come across ur vlog and may i say u r a great teacher as im new at crocheting, tunisian crochet also have dyslexic and never used these long crochet hooks with extra wire 4 long pieces of work b4 Do u have any hints tips 4 me? After watching ur vlog iv just ordered a set of crochet hooks with wireres on Please can i ask u if i make this size work piece that u have shown us and realize its to small so i make another one please can u show us and tell me how to join the 2 pieces together so i cann make a blanket? Iv just liked and subscribedd to ur vlogs Thanks again 4 ur easy to understand vlog Love u guys❤️💜💙💚
I love this pattern I’ve made two already! My very first projects. However mine are turning out too small even though I’m following the exact directions. Any tips?
Hi! Glad to hear that you found this pattern and that you like it! So, if you’re new to crochet (it sounds like you might be) it will depend on your tension. It sounds like you might be a “tight crocheter”. If this is the case, change the hook to one size up. This will help. If that doesn’t do it, go up another size. That should take care of the issue. Have a wonderful day, and thank you for watching and commenting!! I appreciate you!! Happy crocheting!
@@FiberTheory thank you so much! ☺️
nice hat again, thank you so much!

I will certainly start prepping for that!
Yes, please do dollies videos. I enjoy making them.
Great idea! Something I don’t see people make anymore!
Can you make it in a smaller beanie ? because I have small head !
Hello! Yes! Here is the link!! Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/k26NU6g4Tt4/видео.htmlsi=CsGYbLpkWhUiiGVo
very nice hat, but very easy to follow the instruction, you made it clear and fast , thank you !
Thank you Helena! I am soo glad this video was easy for you to understand! I appreciate your sweet comment! Thanks for watching!! Happy crocheting!!
Thank you, I like the way you explain. Now I have to learn the way your way of crocheting.I’m an elderly and it’s my first to learn this and I think it’s fun. Thank you 🙏😊 again. I also want to learn how to make a bigger hat for my 4year old grandson . This one you made, I’ll make this for my new granddaughter that was just born couple days ago. Thank you 🙏 very very much..
Well thank you so much! I really appreciate that! This hat can be adapted to fit any size. If you are familiar with measuring with a fabric measuring tape, it will be easy to get the measurement for any size head. You'll want a measurement of height and circumference. So for height, you will want to measure from the middle of the top of the head to just below the top of the ear. (If you want cuff, measure to the earlobe). That measurement will be how long of a chain you will make. Then you will want to do the measurement around the head from one of the ears all the way around back to that same ear. That measurement will be how many rows you will need in the hat. I would leave at least one row out though, because the yarn will stretch, so if the measurement is calling for 30 rows, only make 29. This way the hat isn't too big. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching and for your wonderful comment. I hope you have a great day and happy crocheting!
I would like to try the baby hat you designed, the long sweater/coat (adorable), afghan, table runner, dressers scarf. I’m a beginner, I’ve made some afghans but simple…😂😂😂❤
Hey Sandy! How are you? Ok! I'll be making a note of this so I can remember to get these scheduled. Thanks so much for your input!
Hey!😊❤
Hey!!
🙌👍👍👍
Best explanation I have found on making seed stitch!
Well thank you very much! I do appreciate that.
Can i have the link?
Hi! I just went in and looked for My order… here’s the link. I’m going to add it to the description. Have a great day! Lion Brand Yarn Feels Like Butta Soft Yarn for Crocheting and Knitting, Velvety, 1-Pack, Dusty Pink a.co/d/bhdXj3R
Can’t wait to try this! Thank you for being so detailed! ❤️ Can I use any size hook or will it have to be the exact one used in the video?
Hi! My pleasure! I would stick with the video instruction. Changing hook size up would make the hat too open and not warm enough, and going down, would make it too small and all measurements and math would have to be reconfigured. This is a tried and true method. 🥰 Happy crocheting!
Would please advise the number of your yarn is it 4 or 5? As well as is it cotton or acrylic? Thank you in advance!
Hi! Unless otherwise stated, I use only 4 weight yarn, especially if a size G, H, or I hook are being used. If I’m using a J or K, it would be a little bigger yarn. I usually use Mainstays from Walmart or I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby, so that will always be a size 4 worsted weight.
@@FiberTheory thank you for explaining it!
Thank you. I did and came out beautiful
That’s amazing to hear!! Thanks for letting me know!
This was my first project I went on to create some baby clothes as well as baby shoes and I think I'm addicted
That’s amazing!! I’m so glad you found crochet!! It’s very easy to get addicted to, but it’s the perfect addiction. Thanks so much for trying out this little hat. When you are more comfortable with your stitches, make sure to check back to my other projects! Lots of easy stuff for beginners in there. 🥰 Happy Crocheting!!
hi how long does it take to crochet full pillow? because I´m crocheting this pattern and I have 20 rows and it took me 3-4 hours I´m not even in half of the pillow so it takes forever. sorry for my bad english:D
Hi! Well, it will depend on how fast you crochet, and because it’s a basketweave pattern, it will take longer since because of the back post and front post stitching. Don’t be discouraged. You’re going fine. Trust the process, and as long as the sizing is correct, that is what will matter most. I’d love to see a pic of it once you’re done. If you would like to share that, you can send it to fibertheory@yahoo.com. Keep going!! You’ll get there. 🥰
@@FiberTheory thank you for answer. I think I crochet fast but as you saying it takes longer because of the pattern. I actually started again but with bigger squares and treble crochet so it's more faster and I like it more. It will be a gift for my brother so I want to finish as soon as possible. if you'd like to see it I can send you a picture if I won't forget😊
you are amazing….the way that you explain every detail and show it on the video,is not comparable with other tutorials. I made the hat for my 9 year old niece .made less cables to fit perfectly and then began decreasing.it turned out great.now I want to start cables pattern scarf for myself.thank u so so much…🙂🫶🙏🏻
Wow!! That’s awesome, thank you!! I’m so glad you had no issues with the tutorial, and that you got the hat made!! I’m so happy for you! If you need a scarf, I do have a tutorial for one as well. Here’s the link incase you can use it! I made it to match the hat. Have a great day!! ruclips.net/video/dPV-ms0O88o/видео.htmlsi=j_IYc_0s_I9e_tX3
Do you have a tutorial for an adult size hat?
Hi! Yes. This is a redo of the same hat but it’s larger. Perfect for an average adult. ruclips.net/user/liveL8Oi0kMPzWY?si=xmMmj-48mJjAmAVb Enjoy!!
Does it matter what size yarn I use for the hook. I have a kit with all the hook sizes from 2-6mm so could use the same hook as you but the yarn I have has a number 4 symbol on it. Does this mean I should use number 4 hook or shall I just copy you and use the number you used orrrr shall I get bigger yarn lol. I hope my question makes sense xx
Hi!! Thanks for watching and for your question! Your question makes complete sense. 😇 So the 4 on the yarn is more than likely the weight (or thickness of the strand). Normally, for a yarn that size, a G, H or I hook is recommended so that the yarn will fit inside the hook head in order to pull the strand through the loops. A size G hook is a 4.5mm hook size, an H is a 5.0mm hook size and a man I hook is a 5.5mm. One of those three will work. Now I’m thinking about doing a video explaining hooks, sizes, and the sizes of materials! This was a great question! Happy crocheting!
Thank you so much you have single handedly taught me how to crochet, I love your videos and your lovely soothing voice, sometimes when you give instructions I say in my head ‘okay mom’ as if your my own mom lol and I love the part where you said about your daughter coming back to learn again, I pray she does too because your the best teacher out there and she’s sooo lucky to have you in person 🥰😍 thank you again and God bless!! Xx
I feel like you’re my mom 🥰I love this video. thank you for teaching me. I’m 22 and this is my first project you made it so easy for me xx
Awe!! You’re a sweetheart! I have kids older than you, so I can be your crochet mom. LOL. I’m so glad this video helped you. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask here! 🥰
